Dan'Majen Gwandu Awards for Transforming Nigeria Airports 

A prominent Non Governmental Organization, known as Better Nigeria In Practice of Good Conduct,  specialized in identifying silent achievers joined numerous groups and associations in honoring Managing Director of Nigeria Airspace Management Agency 'NAMA', Engineer Ahmad Umar Farouk (Dan'Majen Gwandu) for practiced good conduct in transforming Airports across the country.

Engineer Ahmad Umar achieved a lots in transforming Airport all over the country especially in the area of technology where he replaced all obsolete TRACON SYSTEM with modern Wide Area Multilateration, with capabilities in ADS-B, ASMGCS, SENSORS AND CAMERAS among others.

It was in recognition of his doggedness and dedication to duty, various institutes found it worthy to confer on him prestigious awards among which is:

- National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) award

- Fellowship of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (FNSE) award

- Fellowship of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (FNiMechE)

- Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Chartered Administrators (FCIA) award

- fellowship of the Nigeria Institute of Safety Engineers (FISE) to mentioned but few.

Engineer Ahmad Umar Farouk a graduate of Mechanical Engineering' from University of Technology Minna received several equipment training and workshop on communication, Navigation, Surveillance, CNS Power system in UK , France, Germany, USA, ITALY, etc

And due to his involvement in GRASS ROOT humanitarian activities, he was confer with numerous traditional titles such as; 

-DAN'MAJEN GWANDU 

-GAMJIN KABI

-MATAWALEN GABAS

-WAZIRIN DALIJAN among others.
