Greener Future In Kebbi State
🌳 *YOUTH INITIATIVE: PLANTING A GREENER FUTURE IN KEBBI STATE* 🌳
Exciting news from Kebbi State! Youth groups are gearing up for a monumental effort to plant one million trees across all 21 Local Government Areas.
Abubakar Naamare Majikiran Jega, Coordinator of the Tree Initiative for Environmental Sustainability (TIES), revealed the ambitious plan. The initiative aims to collaborate with youth ambassadors and community organizations to support federal and state governments in environmental and climate adaptation efforts.
Acknowledging the support of the Kebbi Development Forum's Committee on Environment and Climate Change, Abubakar emphasized the importance of collective action. He urged individuals and both public and private sector organizations to join hands in this crucial endeavor.
With youth constituting over 70% of the state's population, the potential impact is immense. Abubakar highlighted the transformative power of personal participation in planting, nurturing, and protecting trees.
To kickstart the campaign, an intensive drive called "OPERATIONS PLANT ONE MILLION TREES; ONE YOUTH - ONE TREE" will soon be launched, engaging youths, students, women groups, and other voluntary organizations.
The State Ministry of Environment and other stakeholders are committed to ensuring the success of this initiative. Over 2000 tree seedlings have already been acquired, with opportunities for the public and organizations to contribute to this green movement.
For those interested in getting involved or contributing, reach out to the State Coordinator of the Initiative or any participating group. Let's plant the seeds of a greener, more sustainable future together! 🌿 #GreenKebbi #TreePlanting #YouthInitiative
