 Hon. Halima Hassan Tukur Yauri Makes History Again, Emerges JARUMAR YAURI (The First)

The Emir of Yauri,His Royal Highness, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi, CON has on Thursday, 25th December, 2025 officially turbaned Hon. Halima Hassan Tukur Yauri as First JARUMAR YAURI. 

The prestigious traditional title was conferred on her by the Emirate in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the progress and development of Yauri Emirate and Kebbi State at large.

Speaking at occasion Emir Zayyanu said, traditional title in Yauri Emirate is absolutely merit based, hence not for sale. 

He said, Hon. Halima fulfilled all the creteria and requirement in all ramifications to be conferred as Jarumar Yauri and urges her to maintain the tempo. 

Responding, Hon. Halima thank the emir and the emirate for finding worthy for the title and promise to double her contributions to the development of Yauri emirate. 

Recalled, Hon. Halima was the first woman to be elected into the federal House of Representatives from Sokoto caliphate axis, and she was successfully delivered. 

Few of her achievement then include:

-Multi-billions Step- down power plant projects which resulted in total elimination of electricity problems in Yauri, Zuru and Kontagora Emirates. 

-Solar street lights in Yauri, Shanga, Ngaski

-Construction of skills centre in Yauri

-Construction of dam in Birnin Yauri

-construction of townhall in Yauri, Shanga, Ngaski

-Computer centre in Yauri, Ngaski and Shanga

-Construction of classrooms in Yauri, Shanga, Ngaski

-Primary Healthcare Clinics in Ngaski, Shanga, Yauri. 

-Facilititates the employment of many youths into military, para-military, federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies among others. 

It was in recognition and appreciation of these contributions convinced Yauri emirate to unanimously agreed and conferred on her this prestigious title. 

The ceremony attracted high-profile dignitaries from across the state and beyond. His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, was ably represented by the Accountant General of Kebbi State, Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Naƙhaliƙu.

Also in attendance were the Honourable State Minister, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu; the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida; Hon. Garba Umar Uba (Bullet), Member, House of Representatives for Yauri/Shanga/Ngaski Federal Constituency; and the Honourable Commissioner, Kebbi State Ministry of Solid Minerals and Mining, Hon. Garba Hassan Warra, alongside other respected government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders, and well-wishers.

The turbaning of Hon. Halima Hassan Tukur as JARUMAR YAURI marks a significant milestone, highlighting the growing recognition of women’s leadership and impactful service within the traditional and socio-political landscape of Kebbi State.
