Attention Bashir Sani And other Malami Boys

FROM MERIT TO MISREPRESENTATION: EXPOSING THE FALSE ATTACKS ON ENGR. AHMED UMAR FAROUK, FNSE, MCOREN, NPOM (DANMAJEN GWANDU, GAMJIN KABI)

Our attention was drawn to recent misleading statements attempting to twist facts and drag the name of Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, FNSE, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu, Gamjin Kabi), the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), into a needless quarrel with former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN.

As a proud son of Kebbi State, Engr. Farouk spoke as a concerned citizen when he called Malami to order. His message was clear: unchecked ambition is clouding Malami’s judgment and destabilizing the peace and political stability of Kebbi State.

At the very least, Malami should show gratitude to the APC platform that made him who he is today. By his own admission, he has said publicly that APC gave him the mandate, recognition, and national standing he once enjoyed. The honors, respect, and influence he parades were only possible because he served under APC as Attorney-General. Instead of gratitude, what we now see is an ambition so dangerous that it risks tearing down the very platform that built him.

Malami is also attempting at all costs to become Governor of Kebbi State — not as an act of service to the people, but in a desperate effort to evade accountability over his stewardship from 2015 to 2023, now under EFCC scrutiny. This, however, is a failed calculation. The people of Kebbi have already spoken. In 2023, they voted resoundingly for H.E. Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), and in 2027, they will do so again. No propaganda or desperation can overturn the will of the people.

It must also be clarified that Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk is the Managing Director, not DG, of NAMA. He is a technocrat who rose through the ranks on merit, competence, and integrity. His professional honors — FNSE, MCOREN, NPOM — and traditional titles — Danmajen Gwandu, Gamjin Kabi — reflect his standing both nationally and locally. His message was not political, but patriotic: let the people’s mandate be respected, and let Kebbi have peace.

What is sad today is that Malami has lost the counsel of his own people. Even though he is a lawyer, he is now fighting against the will of Almighty Allah. He has forgotten the very verse of the Qur’an he once recited often:

“Qulillāhumma Mālika al-Mulk, Tuʾti al-Mulka Man Tashāʾ, Wa Tanzīʿu al-Mulka Mimman Tashāʾ, Wa Tuʿizzu Man Tashāʾ, Wa Tudhillu Man Tashāʾ, Biyadika al-Khayr, Innaka ʿAlā Kulli Shayʾin Qadīr.”

(Surah Āl ʿImrān 3:26)

Meaning: “Say, O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give power to whom You will, and You take power from whom You will. You honor whom You will, and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Surely, You have power over all things.”

It was not Malami who gave power to Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu). It was Almighty Allah who destined it. By His will, Dr. Idris first became National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), and in 2023, he became the Executive Governor of Kebbi State. Today he sits as Governor, and by Allah’s decree and the people’s mandate, he will repeat it in 2027.

When Malami cited the verse: “So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is with those who fear Him” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:194), he conveniently overlooked the very next verse:

“And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:195).

These verses remind us that using religion to justify personal ambition, while sowing confusion and destruction, is a distortion of divine guidance.

Our Boss, the MD of NAMA, firmly believes in the power of Almighty Allah and in the truth that the people of Kebbi will always defend their mandate. Malami and his boys should therefore act with humility, behave in a cordial manner, and show gratitude to the APC platform that gave them everything they are today.

Before anyone attempts to distort his words, let them remember this: “Those who rise by merit stand taller than those who climb by patronage. Gratitude is the debt of honor, not the currency of propaganda.”

Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk remains focused on his national duty at NAMA, delivering reforms for Nigeria’s aviation sector, while also speaking as a loyal son of Kebbi where truth is required. The facts are clear: APC gave Malami his platform, Kebbi chose Kauran Gwandu in 2023, and the people will protect that mandate again in 2027.

We therefore advise Malami’s foot soldiers and media boys to desist immediately from mischief and propaganda. Jumping from frying pan into fire will only consume them. The MD of NAMA has surpassed their level of discussion; his focus is service, not petty squabbles.

It is important to stress that attempts to create confusion or cause destruction for personal ambition contradict the teachings of the Qur’an. H.E. Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), as Executive Governor of Kebbi State, will not descend into unnecessary exchanges of words. Leadership requires restraint, dignity, and focus on service.

Our Boss has already offered sound counsel to Malami. We strongly advise that he and his boys revisit that counsel, reflect on it carefully, and put it into practice. In doing so, they will find clarity, peace of mind, and the path toward constructive engagement.
