Wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has emphasized the importance of including skill acquisition in the school curriculum of the state to enable secondary school leavers, especially girls, imbibe trade or commercial talent for self reliance.
Hajiya Zainab Nasare, consequently requested education authorities to expedite action on inserting skill acquisition studies into the education syllabus for secondary schools.

The wife of the governor gave the mandate at the launch of financial support to students of Bakambare Girls Day Secondary School, Alieru. under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning And Empowerment (AGILE) programme, on Tuesday 12/12/2023.
She explained that the provision of financial assistance to secondary school girls under AGILE, was designed to encourage them to complete their studies as well as lessen the burden of bearing the cost of books, uniforms and transport fares on parents.
Hajiya Zainab Nasare spoke strongly about the necessity of education for girls, saying that women as mothers, shoulder the responsibility of home upkeep and moral upbringing of children which required literacy to succeed.

The wife of the governor warned students to face their studies with seriousness and rededicate themselves to hard work within the rules and regulations of school.
Furthermore, Principals and teachers should remain persevering in imparting knowledge to students and in handling discipline through self contentment.

Hajiya Zainab Nasare explained that the administration of her husband, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has attached utmost importance to the AGILE programme aimed at encouraging learning among girls.
In a remark, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, cautioned parents to utilize the money disbursed for education purposes and not for merriment.
The commissioner explained that the amount accruing to every student has been divided into three parts, of which fifteen thousand naira would be provided for one term and subsequently five thousand naira each for second and third terms through ATM card.

The Kebbi AGILE Project Coordinator, Mallam Aliyu Muhammad, explained the concept and implementation of the programme since its introduction in the state.
Among  personalities on the entourage of the Wife of the Governor, were the wife of the deputy governor, Hajiya Maryam Tafida, the wife of the Minister of State for Education, Hajiya Rakiya Sununu, the wife of the SSG, Hajiya Asama'u Alkali Tafida,  Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Hajiya Fati Sani Udu,  Permanent Secretary, Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Maikurata as well as wives of Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen and Members of state House of Assembly.
