Emir of Argungu Commends Governor's Wife

Emir of Argungu commends wife of the governor, Zainab Nasare, for Empowering Women.

The Emir of Argungu in Kebbi State, Alhaji Sama'ila Muhammadu Mera has reaffirmed support and loyalty of traditional rulers to the incumbent administration  towards attaining the objective of  societal growth.

The Monarch affirmed this while receiving the wife of the governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris who was in his palace to thank the Emir for bestowing the traditional title of "Giwar Matan Kabir" on her

The Emir described women as indispensable in societal development, explaining that the traditional title of Giwar Matan Kabi was a high position started from ancient period in Kabi Kingdom bestowed on women of repute who achieved greatness in enhancing the wellbeing of people.

Alhaji Sama'ila Muhammadu Mera also thanked the wife of the governor for her benevolence in empowering women in the emirate with financial assistance.

In her remarks, the wife of the governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, expressed immense happiness about the honour done to her by the Emir for bestowing the prestigious traditional title of Giwar Matan Kabi on her personality.

Hajiya Zainab Nasare informed the Monarch that history has repeated itself, because her mother was popularly refered to as "Giwa" in their area at Makerar Gandu, Birnin Kebbi.

She thanked the Emir for his support and cooperation to the administration of her husband, acknowledging the importance of traditional institutions in nation building.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Power and Political Matters, Alhaji Kabir Sani Giant, described Hajiya Zainab Nasare as highly religiously inclined personality who merited the important traditional title of Giwar Matan Kabi.

He therefore thank the Emir of Argungu for his fatherly care to the people and upholding support and obedience to the government of  Dr. Nasir Idris, (Kauran Gwandu).

In the course of her visit to Argungu, Hajiya Zainab Nasare disbursed cash assistance of twenty thousand naira including one wrapper each to one hundred women as economic empowerment , while urging the women to continue to engage in trade in other to be self reliance.

The wife of the governor was also at Makera,  Birnin Kebbi local government, where she distributed one bag of grains and twenty thousand naira each to three hundred women  to engage in trade, 

Before departure, the District Head of Makera, Alhaji Musa Usman Bashar, bestowed the traditional title of Jarumar Fadama on Hajiya Zainab Nasare.
