Kebbi Beach Soccer Club Creates History with Dominant Victory in Italy

Kebbi Beach Soccer Club, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League and Nigeria’s exclusive representative at the 2023 World Winners Cup, has etched their name in history with a remarkable advancement to the round of 16 at the prestigious event in Alghero, Italy.

Their historic achievement was realized through an astounding victory over the Slovakian club, BS Vion, with a resounding scoreline of 15-1. This emphatic win secured Kebbi’s passage to the round of 16, marking a significant milestone for the Nigerian team.

Filipov and Ekene Obi played pivotal roles, scoring two goals in the first period, and an impressive seven more in the second period, which became the highest-scoring phase of the game. Usman Muhammad, Hassan Muhammed, Nazarov, and Ekene Obi all contributed to the scoreboard, while Filipov added another brace in the third period. Letko ensured that the Slovakian side didn’t leave empty-handed.

Despite a challenging start with a 7-4 loss to ASD Napoli, Kebbi Beach Soccer Club rebounded admirably and secured their spot in the next round of the competition. They finished as the third-best team in a group that included Denmark’s Copenhagen BSC and the vanquished BS Vion.

The Hon. Commissioner Kebbi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Comrade Nura Bala Fingiller express happiness with success story of Kebbi Beach Soccer Club.

He said he will inform the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, His Excellency Dr Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu) this superb development.

He added that Gov. Idris is ever ready to reward any sporting club that make Kebbi State to proud.

 He said Kebbi Beach Soccer Club exhibited hard work will never go in vain.

He urge the team to maintain the tempo as the State Government is preparing to give them a warm reception after the tournament.
