COMMISSIONERS GETS PORTFOLIOS

GOV. IDRIS ASSIGNS PORTFOLIOS TO NEW COMMISSIONERS.

Newly sworn in commissioners in Kebbi state have been directed to immediately start their statutory functions because many things require their attention in their respective ministries. 

Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu gave the order after administering oath of office on the new commissioners in Birnin Kebbi this Friday performed by the state acting Chief Judge, Justice Umar Abubakar. Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris told them to operate collectively to satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of the people aimed at fulfilling campaign promises made by incumbent administration. 

The governor tasked the new commissioners to give 100% loyalty to the government, warning that he would not tolerate indiscipline or non deliverance. He further warns, "all of you must carry the people along or be shown the way out". Dr. Nasir Idris also mandated them to hold periodic meetings with communities in their local government areas towards uplifting their standard of living.

 He made it clear that the commissioners were appointed based on merit and competence. The governor talked about the distribution of food items free to the inhabitants of the state as palliatives to cushion the effect of current economic hardship.

Two of the twenty six commissioners are women while portfolios have been assigned to all the appointees. Eight new ministries were also created.

3-Isah Abubakar Tunga Ministry of Higher Education

4- Nura Bala Fingilla Ministry of Youth and Sports Development

5-Muhammad Dangi Juli Ministry of Lands and Housing

6- Kabiru Usman Alaramma Ministry of Animal Resources and Husbandry

7- Haliru Muhammad Wasagu Ministry of Solid Minirals Development and Mining

8-Shehu Mu'azu Ministry of Agriculture

9- Hayatu Bawa Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development

10- Musa Muhammad Tungulawa Ministry of Environment

11- Bello Abdullahi Kaoje Ministry of Water Resources

12-Garba Salihu Takware Ministry of Rural and Community Development

13- Yunusa Misa Ismail Ministry of Health
