MINISTERS: As Tinubu Promise 35% To Women.....

MINISTERS: AS TINUBU PROMISE 35% FOR WOMEN ....

KEBBI WOMEN DRUM SUPPORT FOR HON.HALIMA HASSAN YAURI

By Ahmad Umar

Numerous women groups in Kebbi State endorsed former two times member Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Halima Hassan Tukur Yauri for the position of minister, representing Kebbi State.

Speaking to news men in Abuja, the groups leader and Chairperson, APC Professional Women Council, Kebbi Chapter, Hajiya Murja said  Hon. Halima posses all the experience, qualities and qualifications to represent Kebbi State at federal Executive Council.

The women groups also express optimism that Hon. Halima will continue from where the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN,CON has stopped in assisting Kebbi State and its people.

The trained Nursing turned politician with vast experience have contributed immensely to her state and community when she served as member Federal House of Representatives.

Recall, Hon. Halima is pioneer woman to be elected in to the Federal House of Representatives from Sokoto caliphate now divided into Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, apart from Halima no woman from these states so far win election at federal level, a record qualified her to the most senior woman politician from this axis.

With this development, Hon. Halima will slogs it out with former Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu and his wife Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu who are in the race for same ministerial slot for a long time.

CHANCES AND THE CHALLENGE OF THE ASPIRANTS SO FAR:

1- H.E ATIKU BAGUDU

The greatest chances of former Governor Atiku Bagudu was his role played in the emergence of President Tinubu right from Primary election to the general election.

His Challenges

Ex Governor Bagudu's greatest challenge was his pending corruption case in America, should DSS do their work honestly he will not see the light of the day.

Another challenge is his poor performance as Kebbi State Governor 2015 to 2023, hence the reason he fail to win his Senatorial ambition in 2023 general election, a clear evidence of the expiration of his political relevancy in Kebbi State.

His Senatorial zone, Kebbi central is another challenge, the zone kept producing the ministerial position since 1999, a domination believe to be too preposterous.

2- HON. HALIMA HASSAN TUKUR YAURI

Should President Tinubu kept his promise of 35% ministerial slot to women, such will put Hon. Halima in greater chance of occupying the slot.

Another chances was her outstanding performance when served as member Federal House of Representatives which is still working favourably for her, especially her efforts in bringing to the end the problems of electricity in the whole Kebbi south and she facilitates massive employment of youths and women among others.

Her senatorial zone, Kebbi South which didn't produced a Minister since 1999 is another chances to Hon. Halima if truly Kebbi State is LAND OF EQUITY.

Her Challenge

The greatest challenge of Hon. Halima's chances is Ex-Governor Bagudu decision of taking this ministerial slot as a DO -OR-DIE Affairs.

Meanwhile, feelers from a reliable source also have it that there are some group of people pushing for the nomination of former Governor Sa'idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari and long time ally of President Tinubu, one Hon. Aminu Sulaiman for same ministerial slot.

As it stand now, Constitutionally President Tinubu has less than 20 days to forward the names of his selected minister to the Senate for confirmation.

Who will represent Kebbi State?; time will judge.

CHALLENGE TO WHO EVER EMERGE

Taking into consideration the unprecedented achievements of former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, CON to the wellbeing of Kebbi State and its people, who ever emerges as new Minister representing Kebbi State, must tight his belt and do the needful, at least half of what Malami did other wise he will meet the wrath of Kebbi people.
