AGILE Project: A Blessings To Education Sector In Kebbi State

The Federal Government of Nigeria, the States and Local Governments as well as development partiners especially The World Bank(WB) and United Nations (UN) have in the past introduced numerous programmes and projects in an attempt to save education especially girls child education from total collapse, till now the anticipated results are yet to be achieved.

But by all indication, the recently introduced World Bank sponsored project called Adolescence Girls Initiative for Learning And Empowerment (AGILE) is changing the narratives towards the desired targets.

This article will focus on AGILE's Wonders in Kebbi State.

THE OBJECTIVE OF AGILE

The main objective of Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning And Empowerment (AGILE) is to reduce gender gap in secondary education completion rate and labour market transition among adolescent girls in Nigeria.

   Meaning the project, projected to encourage and uplifted girls education and empowerment to meet their full potentials.

 SO FAR, HOW WELL?

So far so good as far as AGILE PROJECT in Kebbi State is concern.

AGILE project in Kebbi State is on course towards  achieving the main objective of the project due to hard work, dedication, creativity, ingenuity and patriotism of the staff and consultants of the project.

Numerous schools across the 21 local governments in the state are being renovated to international standard.

So also the project supported many secondary schools with sufficient funds to maintain their existing structure and to also acquire other teaching materials.

Responses from the benefitting schools were impressive, they expressed optimism that God's willing the Project will comprehensively achieve its set objective at the end of the day.

In parts 2 of this article series, I will enumerate wonders  been exhibited by AGILE, KEBBI PROJECTS that are putting smile and hope in faces and minds of girls, teachers, parents and the society in general.
