Singapore Airshow 2026: NAMA Boss Joins Global Aviation Leaders as Nigeria Deepens Sector Reforms

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, FCIA, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi), is participating in the Singapore Airshow 2026, which commenced today, further projecting Nigeria and Africa’s presence at one of the world’s leading aerospace exhibitions.

The global aviation event brings together industry leaders, regulators, manufacturers, and policymakers to discuss emerging technologies, safety standards, and the future of air navigation services. Engr. Farouk joined other aviation stakeholders at the opening ceremony, reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to global collaboration and improved airspace management.

His participation aligns with ongoing aviation reforms by the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, who are working assiduously to reposition Nigeria’s aviation sector as a leading force in Africa and a competitive player globally.

As part of these reforms, modern navigational aids have been procured and deployed across major airports in the country to enhance safety, communication, and surveillance, while efforts are ongoing to ensure Nigeria meets International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) global standards.

Engr. Farouk's presence at the Singapore Airshow as a strategic step toward strengthening international partnerships, adopting innovative air navigation technologies, and advancing Nigeria’s aviation development agenda.
