New Year 2026: NAMA MD Extols Leadership, Offers Prayers and Reaffirms Commitment to National Progress
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, FCIA, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu/Gamjin Kabi), has extended warm New Year 2026 greetings to staff of the Agency, aviation stakeholders and partners, the people of Kebbi State, and Nigerians at large, while reflecting on the collective efforts that sustained the nation’s aviation sector in the outgoing year.
In his message, Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar commended the dedication, discipline, and quiet sacrifices of NAMA staff and industry stakeholders, noting that their professionalism and sense of duty ensured the continuous safety, security, and efficiency of Nigeria’s airspace despite prevailing challenges. He described their contributions as the foundation upon which the Agency’s achievements and public confidence are built.
He expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his purposeful leadership and reform-driven agenda, describing the Renewed Hope vision as a source of strength and clear direction for national institutions. He prayed that Almighty God grants the President wisdom, sound health, and continued success as he leads the nation toward unity, economic stability, and lasting development.
The NAMA Managing Director also commended the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, for his focused leadership, strategic guidance, and steadfast commitment to reforming the aviation sector. He offered prayers for divine wisdom, strength, and clarity for the Minister as he continues to steer the sector toward improved safety, efficiency, and global competitiveness.
He further praised the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for his people-centred governance, commitment to peace, and dedication to development in Kebbi State. He prayed for continued guidance, protection, and success for the Governor, noting that his leadership remains a source of hope and confidence to the people of the state.
In reaffirming NAMA’s resolve for the year ahead, Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar emphasized the Agency’s unwavering commitment to professionalism, service excellence, and deeper collaboration with stakeholders in line with national priorities. He expressed confidence that with sustained unity, responsible leadership, and divine guidance, 2026 would record greater milestones for the aviation sector and the nation at large.
