New Year 2026: Celebrating Purposeful Leadership and Transformational Achievements at NAMA
As we welcome the New Year 2026, it is fitting to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, FCIA, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu/Gamjin Kabi), whose purposeful leadership over the past two years has transformed the landscape of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Under his visionary stewardship, NAMA has achieved significant milestones, including the procurement of advanced navigational equipment to enhance the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the nation’s airspace. Beyond technological progress, his leadership has been deeply human-centered, providing meaningful employment opportunities to youths and vulnerable children from disadvantaged communities. These initiatives reflect a rare blend of strategic foresight and compassionate governance.
The successes of the past two years have been amplified by the strong and cordial working relationship Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar has cultivated with the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, whose guidance and partnership have provided critical support in advancing reforms within the sector. Additionally, the alignment of NAMA’s objectives with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR’s Renewed Hope vision, coupled with the fatherly counsel and mentorship of Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has strengthened the Agency’s resolve and focus, creating a leadership model rooted in human empathy, dedication, and service to the nation.
As we look forward to 2026, it is our prayer that the successes of 2024 and 2025 will not only be sustained but surpassed. May this New Year witness even greater achievements, continued innovation in aviation, and expanded opportunities for societal impact under the continued stewardship of Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar. We pray for divine guidance, wisdom, and good health for him as he leads with purpose, integrity, and compassion, inspiring staff, stakeholders, and Nigerians alike.
Indeed, the past two years have demonstrated that purposeful leadership, anchored in vision, empathy, and collaboration, can transform institutions and touch lives. With faith and continued commitment, 2026 promises to be a year of even higher accomplishments, leaving a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
