MD,NAMA, Attends Maiden Nigeria International Airshow Conference

Engr Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu/Gamjin Kabi), Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), attended the closing ceremony of the maiden Nigeria International Airshow—an unprecedented event in the country’s aviation history.

Today, Engr Farouk joined dignitaries and key stakeholders at the grand finale of the groundbreaking airshow, which underscored Nigeria’s growing ambition in aviation and aerospace development. Although this was the first event of its kind in the country, it was very commendable of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development for bringing such a landmark airshow to Nigeria. Their visionary leadership and steadfast commitment have significantly elevated Nigeria’s position on the global aviation stage, ushering in a new era of growth, innovation, and international collaboration.

The airshow served as a dynamic platform not only to showcase Nigeria’s aviation capabilities but also to accelerate developmental progress, paving the way for future advancements and investments.

In attendance were Festus Keyamo, Esq., SAN, Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, alongside Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofarmata, newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Ministry; Captain Chris Ona Najomo, Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA); Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); as well as several CEOs from government agencies and private sector partners.

The closing ceremony marked the conclusion of a historic event aimed at positioning Nigeria as a key player in the global aviation and aerospace ecosystem. The airshow featured exhibitions, technical sessions, bilateral discussions, and live demonstrations, highlighting the sector’s potential for innovation and investment.

Engr Farouk’s presence underscored his commitment as Managing Director of NAMA to advancing Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure and supporting national initiatives to promote technological growth, safety, and international collaboration.
