How Dan'majen Gwandu Upgrades Aviation and Navigational Equipment to Global Standards

Having said a lots about political activities and humanity services of the multi-talented Managing Director of Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Engineer Ahmed Umar Farouk (Dan'majen Gwandu /Gamjin Kabi) I now found it imperative to glimpse into his legacy at NAMA to prove his God giving wisdom and blessing in what ever he presided over.

Apart from his talent in grasroot mobilization which lead to the creation of TKG and his generosity, so he was blessed with results delivery in any position he held.

Within a very short time in office as MD NAMA, with total support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo (SAN), Engr. Ahmed Umar transformed Aviation sector from Analog to Digital system.

Before the emergence of Engr Ahmed Umar as MD NAMA, many critical aviation infrastructures in Nigeria are far below global best practices with obsolete radar systems, limited communication coverage and a huge gaps in surveillance and navigation system nation wide.

Such shortcomings are now thing of history, as Engr Ahmed Umar Farouk waste no time in procurements and installation of DIGITAL state of the art air navigation systems, including Instrumental Landing Systems (ILS) and Doppler Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Radio Range (DVOR) etc, these has significantly improved operational efficiency across Nigeria airports.

These enhanced accuracy in flight navigation and also reduced delays and risks.
