Rail Transport Is the Game-changer for Kebbi's Agro-Economy_Says Dan'majen Gwandu At KEBBI ECONOMIC SUMMIT

The Managing Director of Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Engineer Ahmed Umar Farouk (Dan'majen Gwandu/Gamjin Kabi) said it is time to bring the rail revolution to Kebbi State in order to open immense opportunities for export and domestic trade.
The multi-talent Dan'majen Gwandu stated this in a paper title 'Transportation as catalyst for meaningful Economic Growth and Development in Kebbi State ' presented at recent Kebbi Economic Summit organized by Kebbi State Elders Consultative Forum.
NAMA Boss, represented by Gen. Nasir Mukhtar (Rtd) said no economy anywhere in the world can grow beyond the strength and efficiency of its transportation system.
He added that transportation has always been the bloodstream of economic prosperity.
He therefore, advocated for construction of more roads and exploring air and inland waterways and above all rail system.
His words "If Kebbi can secure a rail linkage to the Lagos-Kano standard gauge line,or an extension connecting Birnin Kebbi through Jega and Yauri to the Niger State rail corridor. It would open immense opportunities for export and domestic trade"
Dan'majen Gwandu thanked Federal Government thus; " ..the Federal Government superhighway project from Sokoto to Badagry must be celebrated by all well-meaning 'Kebbians' because it contains the rail transport component which offers a cost-effective and reliable means of moving bulk goods over long distances".
He concluded by advocating for constituting a Transport infrastructure Development Committee to design a multimodal master plan
Dan'majen Gwandu also recommended for Public Private Partnership (PPP); collaboration with relevant federal agencies, world bank, Islamic development bank among other stakeholders to achieve integrated multimodal transport infrastructure in Kebbi State.
