Transformation Mission Abroad

NAMA MD, Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi) Joins Aviation Minister on Strategic Assignment!
The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi), departed Nigeria for Argentina on June 24, 2025, as part of an official national assignment. He is currently accompanying the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, on a mission aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and exploring collaborative opportunities within the global aviation sector.
As part of their engagement in Argentina, the delegation conducted a strategic tour of INVAP, a renowned Argentine company specializing in advanced technology solutions in the fields of aerospace, radar systems, nuclear technology, and defense. The visit provided valuable insight into innovative radar and airspace surveillance technologies—core areas of interest for Nigeria's aviation and aerospace modernization efforts.
For NAMA, the tour of INVAP represents a crucial step in assessing global innovations that can be adapted to enhance Nigeria’s air traffic management systems. It also opens potential avenues for future collaboration on projects involving surveillance, satellite technology, and civil-military coordination within Nigerian airspace.
This high-level engagement underscores Nigeria's commitment to modernizing its airspace infrastructure, adopting international best practices, and deepening partnerships to ensure safer and more efficient air travel across the region.
Engr. Farouk’s presence on this strategic mission highlights NAMA’s pivotal role in the nation’s aviation transformation agenda. As a seasoned aviation expert and dedicated public servant, his participation reinforces the government’s resolve to engage meaningfully with international stakeholders in pursuit of national development goals.
As they carry out this important assignment, we extend our prayers and best wishes for fruitful deliberations, successful outcomes, and a safe return.
