Engineer Ahmad Umar Farouk (Dan Majen Gwandu) has played a significant role in the upgrade of Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi.

As the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), he has leveraged his expertise to enhance the airport's infrastructure and services

The NAMA's efforts have enhanced the airport's safety and efficiency by upgrade, installed and maintaining Hi-Tech modern equipments.
The equipment resulted in effective airspace management in supporting the growth of air transportation infrastructure at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi

Recall, NAMA's mandate encompasses the provision of air traffic services, airspace management, and aeronautical information services.

Speaking to Kebbi-Trust on this development, the Kebbi State Airspace Manager, Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi(SABIA), Bello Sahabi Birnin Kebbi rains praises on MD Ahmed Umar Farouk (Dan'Majen Gwandu) for his patriotic contributions to Kebbi State.

Bello Sahabi also commended Kebbi State Government for it's support and complementary roles leading to the success story at SABIA
He then explained NAMA's  contributions to the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport's upgrade through various initiatives, such as:

-Provision of solar power system to Glide Slope, Localiser, DVOR, ground to air communications equipment in order to enhance uninterrupted and seamless operations in the airport.

-Sinking of borehole and landscaping at navaids site; generator house; security shelter with attach toilet.
-Calibration of instrument landing system and distance measuring equipment ( ILS/ DME) and Doppler very high frequency omini range ( DVOR).
-   Sinking of borehole and landscaping; generator house; security house attached with toilet facility were also provided by NAMA at DVOR site.

DVOR is a standard International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) ground based radio navigational aid that provides bearing information to aircraft to define air traffic control routes for en-route, terminal, and instrument approach/departure procedures.

NAMA also played pivotal role in upgrade of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) which is a critical navigation aid that provides pilots with precise guidance during landing approaches, this enhances safety, efficiency, and economic benefits, making it a valuable investment in aviation infrastructure in Kebbi State.
Worthy of notice is NAMA's ability to support all these equipment with uninterrupted power supply (24/7) by installing higher quality solar panels
These multi-millions modern equipments make Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi one of the best in Nigeria; convinced National Hajj Commission to flag off its 2024 Hajj Airlift in Kebbi State.
More interesting, MD Ahmed Umar Farouk
