Wives of Legislators Storm Kebbi for Wedding Fatiha, Pay Homage to Emir of Gwandu


The Wife of the Speaker, Federal House of Representatives Haj. Fatima Tajuddeen Abbas led a distinguished delegation of the Wives of National Assembly Members to Kebbi State today to witness the wedding Fatiha of the daughter of Hon. Bello Ka'oje, the Member Representing Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency.
The delegation arrived at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi, where they were warmly received by Hon. Aisha Bello Ka'oje, Wife of Hon. Bello A Ka'oje, alongside the Wife of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly and several wives of Kebbi legislators. The reception underscored the unity and camaraderie among lawmakers' families and drew attention to Kebbi’s cultural hospitality.

As part of their visit, the delegation paid homage to the Emir of Gwandu, His Royal Highness Major General Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar (Rtd.), at the Abdullahi Fodiyo Palace in Birnin Kebbi. The Emir graciously welcomed the delegation and expressed his deep appreciation for their visit.
During the Meeting, the Emir prayed for the success and happiness of the newlywed couple, asking Allah to bless their union with good health and prosperity. He also commended the delegation for their respect for traditional institutions, which he described as vital pillars of Nigeria’s unity and cultural preservation.
In her remarks, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the Emir as a blessing to the nation and an institution that deserves to be preserved and cherished. She lauded Kebbi State for its rich cultural heritage and commitment to Islamic values, describing it as a beacon of tradition in Nigeria. She also prayed for Allah to grant the Emir good health and continued strength to carry out his leadership duties.
The wedding Fatiha of Hon. Bello Kaoje’s daughter was a moment of celebration that brought together dignitaries from across the country. The event showcased Kebbi’s reputation as a center of cultural and Islamic excellence, further cementing its role as a hub of tradition and community.
