REACTIONS AS KEBBI STATE GOVERNMENT NAME NEW SECRETARIAT AFTER PRESIDENT TINUBU

Ahead of its official commissioning anymoment, the Kebbi State Government named the new State Secretariat complex after President Bola Ahmad Tinubu.

The construction of the new secretariat which started in 2012 estimated to have cost about N30Billion and currently is the most beautiful and expensive structure in Kebbi State.

Although the yardstick used in arriving at this decision is unknown to the majority of Kebbi State people but constitutionally the Governor have a prerogative power to named any State structure after any person.

Kebbi-Trust oportuned to visit the new secretariat for fact finding about the development and luckily find out the wind removed the material used to covered name of the secretariat which intended to be unveiled on the day fixed for the commissioning of the secretariat.

Having confirmed the story, Kebbi-Trust conducted a brief public opinion survey within Birnin Kebbi metropolitan about the development and the reaction was positive and negative briefly outlined below:

NEGATIVE REACTIONS:

Ibrahim Alhaji Kabiru opposed the naming of the secretariat after President Tinubu, his words: " I don't know the contribution of Bola Tinubu to Kebbi project that make our Governor named our valuable asset after him" said Alhaji Kabiru

Another ney sayer by name Bala Musa said " Why not the secretariat be named after the founder of Kebbi Empire (Muhammadu Kanta) or first Emir of Gwandu ( Abdullahi Ibn Fodio) to me no justification for naming this gigantic structure after President Tinubu"

POSITIVE REACTION:

Some people thumb up Kebbi State Government decision to named the new secretariat after President Tinubu, believed that there is wisdom behind this decision:

Haruna Shehu Kawara ( aka Giwa) said " I believed there is wisdom behind Kebbi State Government decision to named the secretariat after President Tinubu; our Governor and our State will now be in President's white book, this can resulted in numerous Federal presence in terms of capital projects and even appointment because with this simple act Kebbi State automatically became president Tinubu's second state of origin after Lagos state, thus, we should expect many federal capital projects in appreciation of this kind gesture " said Haruna Giwa Yauri.

Aliyu Badariya said " Before anyone condemned the decision of Kebbi State on this issue should firstly commend it for completing the secretariat, secondly the building is the most important not the named after it, we should therefore avoid narrow thinking"

What ever is behind the decision of Kebbi State Government to named the new secretariat after President Tinubu will definitely be revealed on the day fixed for the commissioning the secretariat to be announced anymoment.
