SSG Crowns Beacon of Hope For Yauri Emirate

YAKUBU BALA TAFIDA (SSG): A BEACON OF HOPE FOR YAURI EMIRATE

The appointment of Yakubu Bala Tafida as Secretary to Kebbi State Government has ushered a new dawn in the political and developmental landscapes of Yauri Emirate. His appointment into this exalted position did not come to many by surprise given his previous track records in both civil and public services. To many, this is a man who knows the art and science of governance and who has the political and administrative acumens to assist the new government in implementing its policies and programs. It is therefore an understatement to say that, the appointment of Tafida as SSG is aptly done.

Tafida demonstrated zeal and desire to take the people of Yauri Emirate along even before his appointment as SSG. As member of Transition Committee of the new Government, Tafida spearheaded the inclusion of about 23 persons from Yauri Emirate into different Sub Committees to the extent that some people tagged the Committee as “Kwamitin Yan Yauri”. 

Immediately he was appointed SSG and on the assumption of duty, Tafida first assignment to his people was to ensure that a competent person from his Emirate was posted to his office as Director following the elevation of the former director to the rank of Permanent Secretary. He subsequently recommended for the posting of Sani Labbo Raha as Director in his Office. 

As philanthropist and promoter of entrepreneurship whose dream is to put smiles on the faces of his people and make them economically self reliant, Tafida committed a lot of financial resources to assist small business owners and women; he is instrumental in giving out 2 million naira to “Kungiyar Teloli” and through his Tafida Youth Mobilisation rendered assistance to various women groups across the Emirate. 

Educationally, it is also in the public domain that, Tafida facilitated the allocation of land for the takeoff of the approved Federal Government College of Education (Technical) Yauri. Tafida was also behind the final approval for relocation of Federal College Birnin Yauri to GSS Yauri. At the reception organised by HRH the Emir of Yauri to honour some his illustrious sons who attained various polical positions, SSG pledged to distribute UTME (JAMB) Forms free of charge to the prospective tertiary institution students of his Emirate, a pledge he is vigorously pursue to achieve with the setting of Committee of persons of proven integrity to fine-tune the modality of distributing the said forms.

In the area of infrastructure,  Tafida observed infrastructural decay in Yauri and through aggressive persuasion and lobbying, he facilitated the award of contract for the construction of township road in Yauri.being the second Emirate to benefit from this administration's urban renewal program. Tafida was also instrumental to construction of boreholes and provision of chairs to Abubakar Musa High Education Yauri. 

In order to touch the lives of those in desperate needs, SSG through his organization ‘Tafida Youth Mobilisation’ visited hospitals and prison and rendered assistance to patients and inmates. He also assisted various religious organizations.

In terms of political appointments, SSG ensure that his people have a fair share in government particularly in Statutory Boards and Commissions and other political appointments 

It is therefore, not far fetch to conclude that, Yauri Emirate now has a leader who mean well for its development and who by his action demonstrated unalloyed commitment to rejuvenate hope to his people. 

May Allah continue to guide and protect him in his efforts to bring about development to the Emirate.
