ANALYSIS OPPORTUNITIES IN THE OFFICE OF SECRETARY TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT (SSG): Like Hon.Garba Kamba Like Tafidan Yauri

The office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) is one of the very lucrative office in Nigeria, in terms of schedule, visitors and many patronage hence the holder of such office stand a good chance to influence many decision in the State including influencing the development of his community.

In this article, I restricted my analysis with former Kebbi State SSG Hon. Garba Rabi'u Kamba and the current SSG Alhaji Yakubu Bala (Tafidan Yauri).

In my opinion and evidence I am going to present, these 2 SSGs are among the best SSGs produced in Kebbi State especially when talking of influencing the development of their community.

Coincidentally, I am indigene of both Dandi local government where Hon. Garba hails from and Yauri local government where Tafida hails from, therefore my informations are first hand not hear say.

1- HON. GARBA RABI'U KAMBA

Hon. Garba Rabi'u Kamba served as SSG Under the administration of former Governor Sa'idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari 2007 to 2015 even though there was distortion for couples of years but he was the first and last SSG Under Dakingari's administration.

Hon. Garba used that position wisely by bringing unprecedented infrastructural development to Dandi especially the local government headquarters, Kamba.

All the major township roads were fully tared with higher quality asphalt.

Construction and renovation of Hospitals, Schools and other infrastructural facilities were adequately extended to Dandi local government, making Dandi one of the developed local government in Kebbi State. Courtesy of the then SSG Hon. Garba Kamba.

HOW DANDI PEOPLE PAY BACK HON. GARBA KAMBA's PATRIOTISM

Ahead of 2023 general election about 80% of WHO'S WHO IN DANDI POLITICS were all in PDP, making anyone contesting for any political office outside the platform of PDP as someone wasting his time 

 It was amidst this tension Hon. Garba declared interest to contest for House of Representatives under the platform of APC. The flamboyant PDP aspirants begin to celebrate asking how can one win election in Dandi without the support of Alhaji Kabiru Kamba (alias Kabiru Arne), Hon. Ibrahim Bawa, Rt.Hon. Sama'ila Ganda and host of others caucus.

Hon. Garba reply them that, he have the Almighty Allah and developmental projects to relied upon and that was exactly what transpired.

Election was held and Dandi people resisted PDP's financial temptation and pay back Hon. Garba Kamba's patriotism by voting him to the federal House of Representative, where he is presently representing Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency.

2- CURRENT SSG; ALHAJI YAKUBU BALA (TAFIDAN YAURI)

Like Hon. Garba Kamba, within 6 months the current SSG Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafidan Yauri has done what his predecessor failed to do in 8 years.

Recall, Yauri people suffered neglection, marginalization and even depression especially in roads infrastructure during the administration of former Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu.

What make Yawurawa more angry was the fact that throughout that administration their son Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri was the SSG for good 8 years but couldn't not influence the rehabilitation of even Yauri city township roads let alone other infrastructural facilities. Many people lost their lives and many sustained different degrees of injuries as result of such bad roads in the whole 3 local government of the Yauri Emirate.

By all indication such horrible situation in Yauri Emirate is about to be a thing of History, as the current SSG was able to facilitate a comprehensive renovation and reconstruction of Yauri city township roads through the people friendly Governor, His Excellency Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Abdullahin Gwandu).

I learnt that the contract awarded by Gov. Idris for Yauri township roads worth N3.8 Billion is with immediate effect, meaning the work can commence any moment, possibly before one finish reading this article.

If Tafidan Yauri continue this way he stand same chance been enjoy by Hon. Garba Rabi'u Kamba should he decided to contest for any political office in the future.

I used this medium to congratulate both Hon. Garba Rabi'u Kamba the former SSG and Alhaji Yakubu Bala (Tafidan Yauri) the current SSG for having an opportunity and wisely used it for the benefits of their community and State at large.
