KEBBI GOVERNOR's WIFE  RECEIVES AN AWARD FOR HER CONTRIBUTION TO MATERNAL HEALTH.
The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, has been awarded for championing the course of maternal health care in the State.

She was awarded at the State Annual Recognition and Award of Maternal and Neonatal Child Health +Nutrition Cahampions MNCH+N organised by Breakthrough Action Nigeria, Kebbi field office.
In her address Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris who is the Patron of the international Non Governmental Organization, expressed delight and gratitude for the award given to her and promised to continue to contribute her quota to the development of maternal health care in Kebbi State, reiterating government's commitment to improving the health sector in the State.

She commended traditional leaders, community volunteers, media organizations, religious groups and all stakeholders for their efforts in promoting the objectives of the organization.
In his speech, the Advocacy Advisor, Breakthrough Action Nigeria Abuja, Mukhtar Ibrahim Gaya said the aim of the event was to show appreciation to the community players who have contributed significantly towards achieving the goals of the Breakthrough Nigeria project  and to encourage friendly competition among different community players and stakeholders as well as improve productivity among the community players and stakeholders.
He thanked the wife of the Governor for contributing immensely to the general health of women and children in the State.

Dignitaries who attended the event were representatives of Emirs of Gwandu, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru ,commissioner of health, permanent secretaries, religious leaders and  traditional leaders, community volunteers (CVS) local government area supervisors (LGS) Ward development committees (WDC’s) Social and Behavioral change advocacy core group (SBC ACG)
Highlights of the event were presentations of awards to the wife of the Governor, the representatives of Emirs of the four Emirates as well as awardees, good will messages.
The wife of the Governor was accompanied by the Kebbi State Commissioner of women affairs and social development, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, Principal Dr Amina Girls College B/k and Chairperson ANCOPPS women wing Kebbi State, Hajiya Salamatu Bala Tafida, members of NANAS foundation, Elders forum and family members.
