AGILE SUCCESS STORY:
How New Project Coordinator Can Consolidate On The Success Recorded And Achieve All The Project's Set Objectives.

The Federal Government of Nigeria, the States and Local Governments as well as development partners especially The World Bank(WB) and United Nations (UN) have in the past introduced numerous programmes and projects in an attempt to save education especially girls child education from total collapse, till now the anticipated results are yet to be achieved.
But by all indication, the recently introduced World Bank sponsored project called Adolescence Girls Initiative for Learning And Empowerment (AGILE) is changing the narratives towards the desired targets.
THE OBJECTIVE OF AGILE
The main objective of Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning And Empowerment (AGILE) is to reduce gender gap in secondary education completion rate and labour market transition among adolescent girls in Nigeria.
Meaning the project, projected to encourage and uplifted girls education and empowerment to meet their full potentials.
SO FAR, HOW WELL?
So far so good as far as AGILE PROJECT in Kebbi State is concern.
AGILE project in Kebbi State is on course towards achieving the main objective of the project on the following grounds:
1- So far, 414 (Four hundred and fourteen) secondary schools across the 21 local governments in the state benefited with one or more AGILE projects such as:
i- block of class rooms,
ii- toilet facilities,
iii- boreholes/overhead tanks
iv- fencing,
v- Laboratory equipments
vi- furnitures/chairs.
In a nutshell, no junior or Senior Secondary School, Day or boarding in Kebbi State that didn't get AGILE Intervention.
2- Also AGILE project supported many secondary schools with sufficient fund to maintain their existing structure and to also acquire other teaching materials.
3- AGILE provided thousands of desks and other related equipments to all schools across the 21 local governments in Kebbi State.
4- AGILE also supported thousands of students and parents across Kebbi State with cash grant: what a fantastic project.
THE SECRET BEHIND AGILE SUCCESS STORY SO FAR; THE REVEALATION NEW PC SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO:
1- COMPETENT STAFF : AGILE project in Kebbi State achieved the above highlighted giant stride due to hard work, dedication, creativity, ingenuity and patriotism of the staff of the project such as former PC, Abubakar Sule Wasagu.Hajiya Rakiya Shehu, Hassan Ngaski, Dr. Muhammad Nuradeen, Mukaddas Ibrahim, Flecia V. Ango, Margret Alan Cameron, Fatima M. Kalgo, Murtala S. Kangiwa, Nazir Adamu Muhammad, Nuhu Haruna, Sa'idu U. Yeldu, Yusuf Abubakar, Yusuf Musa and host of others.
2-DUE PROCESS IN CONTRACT AWARDS AND SUPERVISION: The stand of the project procurement Consultant Mr. Akanni Babatunde insisting on due process in line with contents of contractual Terms of Reference (ToR) and world Bank specifications, help immensely in executing standard projects.
3- USE OF COMPETENT MEDIA CONSULTANT; THE BARKASA COMMUNICATION.
Another secret behind Kebbi AGILE Success story was the USED OF HOME BASE MEDIA CONSULTANT, THE BARKASA COMMUNICATIONS owned by dedicated indigenous youths.
Barkasa Communications amplified, publicized and broadcasted AGILE activities in nooks and crannies of Kebbi State; ranging from the production of Billboard, fliers, pamphlet, posters, jingles, short drama, sweet music, radio program among others, all using local languages.
HOW ALIYU MUHAMMAD B/K, THE NEW PROJECT COORDINATOR CAN SUSTAIN THE TEMPO: A GOOD ADVICE
1- Established a good and cordial working relationship with his staff and do anything humanly possible to improve in their welfare
2- Maintain the due process in contract awards and supervision
3- Re-engage the Service of Media consultant: BARKASA COMMUNICATIONS to embark on more SENSITIZATION activities such as:
i- Compilation of all KEBBI AGILE executed projects into a magazine for future reference and also serve as press kits to all visitors of the SPIU Office
ii- production of more Billboards
iii- monitor the airing of the produced jingles and songs to radio and TV stations for complete 12 months
iv- monitor the radio and TV enlightenment programmes on AGILE for 12 consecutive months
v- monitor the airing of the produced AGILE Documentary and drama for at least 30 slots.
vi- And above all organized town hall meeting and community discussion across the 21 local governments in the State
By so doing, the new Kebbi AGILE Project Coordinator, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad Birnin Kebbi stand a good chance of not only success in achieving the AGILE objectives but will also make Kebbi State one of the best among the AGILE beneficiaries states in Nigeria.
