AGILE: KEBBI TO LOSE OPPORTUNITIES WORTH BILLIONS OF NAIRA
KEBBI STATE EDUCATION SECTOR AT VERGE OF COLLAPSE AS WORLD BANK SET TO DIVERT APPROVED FUND EARMARKED FOR KEBBI AGILE PROJECT TO SOKOTO STATE

The urgency of the matter at stake and to avoid unnecessary delay or negligence of some private secretaries as well as my believe that our Governor, Emirs and stakeholders are digitally transformed are the reasons why I decided to forward this Appeal digitally against the traditional manual procedure.
Your Excellency, Your Royal Highness; may recall that Federal Government of Nigeria, the States and Local Governments as well as development partiners especially The World Bank(WB) and United Nations (UN) have in the past introduced numerous programmes and projects in an attempt to save the education sector especially Girls Child Education from total collapse, till now the anticipated results are yet to be harnessed.
But from all indication, the recently introduced World Bank sponsored project called Adolescence Girls Initiative for Learning And Empowerment (AGILE) is changing the narrative towards the desired target.
The main objective of Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning And Empowerment (AGILE) is to reduce gender gap in secondary education completion rate and labour market transition among adolescent girls in Nigeria.
SO FAR, HOW WELL?
AGILE project in Kebbi State is on course towards achieving the main objective of the project on the following grounds:
1- So far, 414 (Four hundred and fourteen) schools across the 21 local governments in the state benefited with one or more projects such as:
i- block of class rooms,
ii- toilet facilities,
iii- boreholes/overhead tanks
iv- fencing,
v- Laboratory equipments
vi- furnitures/chairs.
In a nutshell, no junior or Senior Secondary School, Day or boarding in Kebbi State that didn't get AGILE Intervention.
2- Also AGILE project supported many secondary schools with sufficient fund to maintain their existing structure and to also acquire other teaching materials.
3- AGILE provided thousands of desks and other related equipments to all schools across the 21 local governments in Kebbi State.
4- AGILE also supported thousands of students and parents across Kebbi State with cash grant: what a fantastic project.
Responses from the benefitting schools were impressive, they expressed optimism that God's willing the Project will comprehensively achieve its set objective at the end of the day.( Kindly watch attached DRAFT documentary on Kebbi-AGILE)
AGILE is projected to be a 5 year programme but in just 2 years it achieved a lot in Kebbi State, how would you image AGILE performance in the next 3 years?. I believe it will be superb.
BEFORE THE AGILE INTERVENTION:
Before the AGILE Intervention the infrastructure in most of the secondary schools in Kebbi State especially the students hostels at boarding schools was almost collapse, AGILE came to stop these infrastructure from total collapse but unfortunately, the unnecessary interference from former Governor, Atiku Bagudu collapsed the AGILE itself, hence the need for the new Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris to do the needful by recalling the suspended AGILE officials so that the project will continue to it's full target.
WHY EX-GOVERNOR ATIKU BAGUDU SUSPENDED THE OPERATION OF AGILE PROJECT IN KEBBI STATE A WEEK TO THE END OF HIS ADMINISTRATION
For reasons best known to him, former Governor Atiku Bagudu suspended the operation and activities of AGILE in Kebbi State just a week to the end of his administration.
In a letter suspending the officials of AGILE Project who are borrowed staff of state government, no where they were alleged of under performance. AGILE officials might have their shortcomings as humanbeings but such should not be extended to deny KEBBI STATE this GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY. A solution should be provided.
WORLD BANK MAY AT ANY TIME ABANDONED KEBBI AND MOVE TO SOKOTO STATE.
Unless suspended AGILE officials are recalled quickly to continue with their good work, WORLD BANK will move approved Kebbi fund WORTH Billions of Naira to another State.
Note that, AGILE Project is currently operating in only 7 states out of 36 States in Nigeria. It took the former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN CON sleepless night before Kebbi State get into these 7 first batch luckiest States.
As results of suspending the AGILE officials by former Governor Atiku Bagudu; the WORLD BANK issued a statement painting Kebbi State AS NON SERIOUS; THREATENING TO WITHDRAW THEIR SUPPORT TO NEIGHBOURING SOKOTO or ZAMFARA STATES who are eagerly waiting to grab this opportunity.
SUGGESTIONS:
1- I suggest His Excellency, Dr. Nasiru Idris, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State to recalled these suspended AGILE officials to avoid World Bank threats of funds transfer to another state.
2- I suggest that our traditional rulers; (the Four Emirs) to intervene by advising the Governor to take quick action to avoid losing this golden opportunity.
3- I also suggest that the two WISE MEN behind Governor Idris; H.E Sa'idu Dakingari and former Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami SAN CON to also intervene to ensure continuety of AGILE project in Kebbi State.
4- I suggest that the appointed member, Higher level Advisory committee on AGILE; Hon.Halima Yauri continue with her reconciliation efforts. I am aware of her struggle between Abuja and Birnin Kebbi to solve this problem. I urge her to keep it up
5- I suggest that the newly appointed SSA to the Kebbi State Governor on International Donor Agencies, Dr. Buhari Ali Gwandu should also intervene and remind the Governor on why Kebbi State must not lost this opportunity.
6- Finally, I suggest that the key brain behind Governor Idris; Dr. Usman Sani Tunga to reach out to His Excellency to resolve this issues as soon as possible so that Kebbi State will enjoy complete 5 years AGILE Intervention for the benefits of our children and grand children.
