Muslim-Muslim Ticket:Northern Christian Clerics Defy CAN, Back Tinubu/Shettima For 2023 Election

Ahead of the 2023 Presidential Election, Some Christian Leaders in the Northern Region have declared their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Running Mate, Senator Kashim Shettima. It will be recalled that the National Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had earlier kicked against the Muslim-Muslim Ticket fielded by the ruling party.

The Group of Clerics under the aegis of Progressive Christian Clerics (PCC) stated that they decided to support Tinubu/Shettima Ticket to encourage Brotherhood and Religious Tolerance. Speaking on behalf of his Colleagues, Reverend Moses Bitrus of the Arise and Shine Prophetic Ministry in Kaduna said they have prayed to God to give Nigeria Leaders with wisdom, knowledge and understanding to rule the Country.

Bitrus who is the North-West Zonal Chairman of the Group urged Nigerians to shun religious sentiments and be more concerned about electing Leaders who are capable of solving the current Security and Economic Challenges ravaging the Nation.
