MD, NAMA Welcomes New Permanent Secretary
*NAMA Headquarters Hosts Newly Appointed Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development on Working Visit
Today, the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mahmud Adam Kambari, paid a working visit to the corporate headquarters of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) in Abuja.
He was warmly received by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Farouk Ahmed Umar, alongside the agency’s directors, general managers, and staff.
The visit, described as both official and for familiarization, began with a closed-door briefing in the Managing Director’s office, where an overview of the agency’s structure and operations was presented. During the session, the Permanent Secretary was introduced to NAMA’s directorates and the officials heading them.
It was highlighted that NAMA operates nine directorates under the leadership of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, who provides overall strategic and operational direction for the agency.
The Permanent Secretary was subsequently introduced to key members of the leadership team, including Mr. Ibrahim Aliyu, Director of Corporate Services; Mr. Abimbola Ladipo, Director of Human Resources and Administration; and Mr. John Tayo, Director of Air Traffic Services.
Also presented were Dr. Mrs. Folake Oke-Okundaye, Director of Finance and Accounts; Mrs. Isemuihonmon Rita Egbadon, Director of Legal Services and Company Secretary; and Engr. (Mrs.) Ijeoma Terese Ihenacho, Director of Safety Electronics and Engineering Services. Others include Dr. Abdullahi Musa, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, and Engr. Victor Goyea, Director of Special Duties.
In his welcome remarks, the Managing Director outlined the core functions of NAMA, highlighting its vision, mission, and statutory mandate. He emphasized the agency’s critical role in ensuring the safety of Nigeria’s airspace and maintaining efficient air navigation services across the country.
He also commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Festus Keyamo for the appointment of the Permanent Secretary, describing it as well-deserved, timely, and a case of putting the right person in the right position.
In his response, the Permanent Secretary expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him by the Managing Director, directors, general managers, and staff. He reaffirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with the agency to achieve its objectives and further strengthen the aviation sector.
The visit concluded on a positive and professional note, reinforcing mutual commitment to effective collaboration and the continued advancement of Nigeria’s airspace management system.
