KEBBI TEACHERS TO GET HOUSE, CAR AND MOTORCYCLE LOAN- Says Gov. Idris
Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has pledged to reintroduce soft loan schemes for primary and secondary school teachers across the State.

The initiative, which will cover housing, vehicles and motorcycles, is aimed at improving teachers’ welfare and boosting morale in the education sector.

Governor Nasir Idris made the commitment on Tuesday 24/02/2026, assuring teachers that his administration remains committed to rewarding their dedication and hard work.

Idris, a former union leader, emphasized that teachers play a critical role in shaping the future of the State and therefore deserve better welfare packages.

He explained that the reintroduction of the loan scheme would provide teachers with easier access to funds to own homes, purchase cars and acquire motorcycles to ease transportation challenges, particularly for those serving in rural communities.

The soft loans are expected to come with friendly repayment terms to ensure affordability.

The Governor reiterated that his administration prioritizes education and staff welfare, noting that empowering teachers directly impacts the quality of learning outcomes in public schools. He added that necessary modalities would be put in place to ensure transparency and smooth implementation of the programme.

The development has been widely welcomed by education stakeholders, who describe the initiative as a timely intervention capable of restoring confidence and motivation within the teaching workforce in Kebbi State.
