Engr. Ahmed Farouk Actualizes NAMA'S Big Dream

PROMISE FULFILLED: Construction of NAMA New Cooperate Headquarters in Abuja Commences
The Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has officially kick- started  the construction of its new Cooperate Headquarters and Air Traffic Management (ATM) Center in Abuja, on Thursday, 26/02/2026.
Recall, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, FCIA, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi), has on January,2026 officially handed over the construction site for NAMA’s Corporate Headquarters and National Air Traffic Management (ATM) Centre in Abuja to the project contractor, NHD Interbiz Projects Limited.
And follow it up with the trip around the globe to identify the most befitting building for the Agency.
Today, the project’s groundbreaking ceremony was performed by the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Esq., SAN.
This represents a critical step in the implementation of a landmark aviation infrastructure project under the Renewed Hope Agenda of Presidents Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, aimed at transforming Nigeria’s airspace management system to globally accepted standards in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) mandates.
NAMA has been using rented apartment in Abuja since it's creation in 2008, and the previous MDs give no priority to construct permanent building for the Agency until now under the leadership of progressive MD, Engineer Ahmed Umar Farouk.
This is addition to numerous initiatives and contribution of Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk in modernizing Nigeria's Aviation sector since assuming office as Managing Director and Chief Executive of NAMA.
