Special Engagement in China
Aligning with Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, NAMA MD Commences Official Engagement in China!
A beautiful Monday marked a promising beginning as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency - NAMA, Engr Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, FCIA, FNIMECHE, Rgd COREN, NPOM, (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi) commenced his official engagement in China.
The visit forms part of his strategic official assignment, in line with the initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, under the Renewed Hope Agenda. The engagement is aimed at upgrading NAMA’s navigational aids to world-class standards while ensuring full compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements.
As part of this repositioning drive, NAMA is currently undergoing a significant transformation, including the ongoing development of the NAMA Corporate Headquarters with a Centralized Air Traffic Management (ATM) Center. The project, which is expected to be groundbreaking by the Honourable Minister of Aviation, will centralize NAMA’s air traffic operations—unlike the previous system where ATM activities were operated separately from Lagos and Kano.
This strategic engagement in China is another bold step toward strengthening Nigeria’s air navigation infrastructure and enhancing operational efficiency.
We wish Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar a successful engagement and fruitful deliberations, with outcomes that will further elevate NAMA’s mandate and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
