Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar Hands Over Site for NAMA Headquarters and National ATM Centre, Abuja, Ahead of Groundbreaking
Last Friday, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, FCIA, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi), officially handed over the construction site for NAMA’s proposed Corporate Headquarters and National Air Traffic Management (ATM) Centre in Abuja to the project contractor, NHD Interbiz Projects Limited, ahead of the project’s groundbreaking ceremony to be performed by the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Esq., SAN.
The site handover represents a critical step in the implementation of a landmark aviation infrastructure project under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, aimed at transforming Nigeria’s airspace management system to globally accepted standards in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) mandates.
NAMA has been using rented apartment in Abuja since it's creation in 2008, and the previous MDs give no priority to construct permanent building for the Agency until now under the leadership of progressive MD, Engineer Ahmed Umar Farouk.
