NAMA Boss, Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi), Engages with NSIWC Chairman Ekpo Nta on New Minimum Wage — Reassures Staff of Management’s Commitment to Their Welfare

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi), has reassured staff that their welfare remains his highest priority, stressing that the management is doing everything possible to ensure the effective implementation of the new minimum wage.

Speaking after discussions with the Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), Ekpo Nta, Esq., on the matter, Engr. Farouk said:

“If the implementation of the new minimum wage were directly at my disposal, it would no longer be a topic of discussion, because I would have immediately assented to it. But as you know, this is a due process that goes beyond our control. What I can assure you, however, is that myself and the entire management team are leaving no stone unturned to make sure it is implemented fully and effectively.”

While calling on staff to exercise patience, the NAMA boss encouraged them to remain steadfast and motivated, assuring them that the outcome of the process will bring joy to everyone once concluded.

“At the end of it all, you will be happy with the outcome of management’s efforts. Every mechanism has been put in place to guarantee that the new wage policy translates into real benefits for you and your families. Your welfare is my utmost priority, and I remain committed to seeing you all motivated, supported, and rewarded for your dedication,” he added.

Engr. Farouk emphasized that a well-supported workforce is key to the success of NAMA’s mandate, and assured that staff welfare will continue to remain at the core of his administration’s agenda.
