Dan'majen Gwandu mourns the demise of Emir of Zuru

Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar Mourns Emir of Zuru, Condoles Kebbi State Government, Zuru Emirate, and People of Kebbi over Huge Loss

Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, FNSE, MCOREN, NPOM (Danmajen Gwandu / Gamjin Kabi), has joined the people of Kebbi State and Nigeria at large in mourning the passing of His Royal Highness, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (Gomo II), Emir of Zuru, who died at the age of 81.

In a heartfelt condolence message, Engr. Farouk described the late Emir as a highly respected leader, a man of integrity, courage, and wisdom whose life was defined by service—to the nation as a gallant military officer and to his people as a father, mentor, and custodian of tradition. He noted that the Emir’s reign symbolized unity, stability, and development, leaving behind a legacy that will remain indelible in the hearts of the Zuru people and Kebbi State at large.

He further emphasized that the passing of the Emir is not only a monumental loss to the Zuru Emirate, but to Kebbi State and Nigeria as a whole, as his voice of guidance, moral leadership, and deep sense of patriotism will be sorely missed. “The late Emir lived a life worthy of emulation, touching lives across generations with humility, fairness, and commitment to justice,” he remarked.

Engr. Farouk extended his deepest condolences to the Kebbi State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, the immediate family of the deceased Emir, the traditional council, and the entire people of Kebbi State. He prayed that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives the shortcomings of the late Emir, accepts his good deeds, and grants him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

“May Allah grant the family, the Zuru Emirate, and the people of Kebbi State the fortitude to bear this huge and irreplaceable loss,” he added. “Though he has departed this world, his legacy of service, leadership, and sacrifice will continue to inspire generations to come.”
